Are you tight or loose? Let’s describe the diametrically opposed properties of play.
Tight poker players are very conservative, calling or betting only when holding strong hands. If the flop doesn’t fix their hand, they toss the holcards into the shit with little hesitation – unless they’re holding artificial hands (preflop, that’s AA, KK, and QQ) or premium drawing cards (AK, AQ, AJ, and KQ). If they don’t have an Ace in the hole, they will often fold when the Ace hits the board unless they can beat a pair of Aces. They will never start with Ace-rag even if it fits – in any position visit saranacash.
On the opposite end, loose players can call to see the flop with almost two cards in the hole, rarely fanning their hand before the flop. After failing, they tend to chase with just a few intricacies – going to the river with hands that pray even wins the pot. “Loose as a goose!” That’s the extreme. Most of the players were in between.
I’m sure I don’t need to remind you of aggressive players. Such players are likely to bet or raise – or raise – quite often – perhaps at every turn. “Mania” are the ultimate poker aggressors; he bet almost regardless. Loose players may or may not be aggressive. In fact, a tight player is more likely to play aggressively only in certain situations – when he thinks improving will be in his favor.
