A week after Hard Rock International CEO Jim Allen said Florida casinos could open by the end of the month, the company announced it would open its Tampa property later this week.
The Twitter account for the poker room property tweeted the announcement, along with a photo of what the table will look like at its reopening. The property will have a large plexiglass divider on the table that resembles what lies between the customer and the bank teller. It will also have a divider that runs between the players. It’s been rumored for a while that this divider will be used at the poker table when the casino starts reopening visit WADUKPKV.
So far, however, with only a few poker rooms open in California and South Dakota, no one has implemented them yet. In contrast, most rooms have decided to limit the number of players at the table to five or six. Other casinos have decided to reopen without poker as an option for their guests.
According to the company website, the poker room will take several precautions when players return to action, apart from dividers. The 46-table room will only operate at 50 percent capacity and the 23 tables will have a maximum of six players. Cards and chips will be cleaned regularly and masks will be required from both employees and players.
This will be the first Florida casino to reopen since it closed in mid-March in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa will open Thursday at 7pm, but poker players will see some big changes to its poker room for the future soon.
The room also announced that the rake would be temporarily lowered to $ 3 per hand and would now require an incoming call to be listed for potential play.
Last week, South Florida radio personality Andy Slater tweeted a photo of a poker room in Hialeah testing the same plexiglass splitter when it reopened. With one of the largest poker rooms in the state using dividers, it’s likely this will become the norm for poker in Sunshine State.
